New Pumpkins with SPIDERS are a part of the FUN!

Do you remember the HALLOWEEN gift bags?

Well, it's time to put them to use!

You will find your napkin and silverware and a few treats tucked inside!

We all need a little treat once in awhile!

Halloween napkins are made from Moda "Boo TO YOU" fabric!

Bags are trimmed with ric rac, and polka dot ribbons.

You will also find a delicious cupcake

made from Halloween socks in a candy corn dish!

I found the Candy Corn dishes at Target for 2.50 a dish!

I thought they were so cute!

Of course, they would be great with candy corn!

My kids eat them way too fast!
So, it's HALLOWEEN SOCKS!

I found the socks at TARGET in the DOLLAR aisle!

You can find longer socks at JoAnn's!

 (Hurry, they go fast).

Roll and wrap with a ribbon, tuck inside a cupcake liner.

I added three of my Halloween with Spiders Pumpkins and Candy Corn Pillows for the centerpiece

One Halloween Quilt along with a lot of

BIG BLACK SPIDERS  from THE DOLLAR STORE!

I found the CANDY CORN and  PUMPKIN Bowls at Target.

I was going to Target for Halloween socks!

It was the Halloween bowls that started all of this!

I will blame it on to the PUMPKIN BOWLS!

I think the PUMPKIN BOWLS would be great for

Potato and Cheese Soup and PUMPKIN BREAD!

I 'm trying to find some HALLOWEEN polka dot plates!

Black with white polka dots would be great!

It was tempting to paint a few polka dots on my

Off-white Fall plates!

Add some more goodies or a "love" note 

in the Halloween gift box!

Quilt Bulletin Board

Hello friends! I have posted this bulletin board in the past, so it may look familiar to you. I have had many requests on how to make this Quilt Bulletin Board, so here you have the tutorial! This bulletin board is great for a sewing/craft room!

Items to Collect:

12" X 30" frame, acrylic craft paint, paintbrush, foam board, craft knife, 1/4" thick cork board, Spray adhesive, cotton batting, scissors, double-stick tape, piece of quilt fabric (fabric should be large enough to cover batting/cork/ foam-board insert, with extra fabric to allow for aligning pattern and wrapping to the back.) Picture points or brad nails, tacky glue, craft paper.

Let's get started!

1. Paint frame with your color choice of paint, then dry Brush with white craft paint Let dry.

2. Remove and measure frame backing. Using a craft knife, cut a piece of foam board to those measurements. Our frame backing measured 9" X 26".

3. With craft knife, cut a piece of cork board to the same measurements.

4. Following the adhesive manufacturer's instructions, spray one side of both the cork and the foam board with spray adhesive(see "spray" photo).

5. With scissors, cut a piece of batting to a size large enough to cover the front of the foam and cork assembly, including excess to wrap and secure on the back.(see "wrap batting" photo).

6. Apply a strip of double-stick tape along each long side on the back of the foam board. Center the board-and cork assembly over batting, wrapping excess batting onto the back. Secure batting to the tape.

7. Apply another strip of double-stick tape along each long side next to the batting. (see "wrap fabric" photo)

8. Insert the fabric-covered board into the back of the frame. Secure with picture points or brad nails.

9. Finish the frame back by cutting a piece of craft paper to fit the frame. Glue the paper to the frame back.

10. Hang your beautiful quilt bulletin board!

11. Deck the Halls of HOME with JOY!

I love quilts that give a vision of who we are, and have a significant meaning in our life. This quilt has a lot of meaning for me. I made it in the summer of 2007 with my sister! It is the first time, I have ever done applique on a quilt! I have often looked at quilts like this, and my thoughts were always over whelmed at the thought of actually making one! I am happy to say, I made it! I now hang it proudly in my family room! It is more then just a quilt to me! Here are ten top reasons why I love it so much! :-)

1. I have a loving sister who took the time to show me how to do applique and made the same quilt along with me!
2. "The old house" in the quilt reminds me of my roots(born at home) and family!
3. Country life is good, it reminds me of the safety and simplicity I felt growing up.
4. I love Trees, especially tall green Christmas trees! I miss the pine trees and mountains!
5. Birds in the trees remind me of the birds that lived in the tall trees across the street. I loved to hear them sing!
6. The basket reminds me of charity, a loving heart of friends and family!
7. The colors of fall, my favorite!
8. Memories of grandmothers who sewed so beautifully and made us beautiful dresses when we were young, appreciating their talent!
9. A loving mother who hand quilted so perfectly!
10. The Love and desire of learning!

I'm posting it because I think it is so cute for Valentines and a great wall hanging and perhaps it has some significant meaning for you!

Believe..Miracles Do Happen

Faith Hope and Love are a good thing but the greatest is Love!

In Celebration of my Miracle daughter born 23 years ago--weighing one pound, seven ounces-12 inches long(born at 24 weeks). It is with great honor to sew these little preemie quilts with my daughter and give them to N.I.C.U. Neonatal Nurseries in our community and surrounding areas. My daughter was born at St. Josephs Hospital in Phoenix.

Through those critical days and months of NICU. I wanted to hear and know about tiny babies surviving, it gave me great hope.

I want to share these adorable little quilts with you in hopes you would like to join us! The N.I.C.U. and Mothers of preemie babies enjoy and appreciate receiving these little blankets. The little quilts brighten up the babies environment and gives a loving message of HOPE. You can contact the N.I.C.U. Neonatal Units in your area, they will be thrilled to receive your loving HANDMADE quilts.

My Mother made a tiny quilt(shown above) for my little Brandi along with the tiny p.j.s and knitted booties. We still have the treasured items today, it is a keepsake. My daughter looks at them and understands how tiny she really was!

Here are instructions or guidelines for most N.I.C.U Neonatal Nurseries.

**The tiny quilts work well with two flannel fat quarters(18 X 22) or quilted fabric. The size can vary. It is OK to make them larger, all sizes are graciously accepted, although keep in mind how tiny these little babies are. I like the 18 X 22 size.

Place two fat quarters right sides together, leave a opening for turning and top stitch the edges 1/4 inch around the quilt.

Sew a (X )in the middle to keep fabrics securely in place (about 4-6 inches).

**If you want to add a token of love or dedication to the quilt, do that first. I printed out my "token of love" on appropriate fabric that can be used in a printer.

Do not tie the quilts. Most N.I.C.U. nurseries discourage the yarn ties. (The babies are so tiny that the yarn ties are uncomfortable.)

Make sure your fabrics are clean. Place each quilt in zip lock bags to stay clean and sterile when transporting them to the hospital.

Brandi spent her first six months of life in the N.I.C.U. Brandi has been my greatest teacher in life.
